Anime Convention
Japanese animation (Anime) has turned in the last decade from a cult-phenomenon to the critics' darling, and has gained millions of fans across the globe thanks to the work of masters of the field such as Hayao Miazaki ("Spirited Away") and Mamoru Oshii ("Ghost in the Shell").
Icon Festival, with collaboration form IMAA, the Israeli Manga and Anime Association, is inviting the general public the Anime Convention: film screenings, activities and community events, a diverse stalls area, an original anime-based stage production, and most importantly, the main even of every anime convention, the cosplay competition. The convention will take place on Thursday, October 8th. Movie screenings at the convention supported by the Japanese embassy.
Original stage production: "The Good, the Bad, and the Notebook"
Light Yagami was a young boy, a gifted pupil, son to a praised officer of the law, until one day he found a fate-altering notebook – the writing of a man's name in it brings about his death. The original production, "The Good, the Bad, and the Notebook" is a parody based on the psychological amine series "Death Note", presenting an remarkable and original plot based on the show's characters.

Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone (Evangelion Shingekijoban: Jo), Neon Genesis Evangelion, one of the most noted anime series, did for the Mecha genre what "The Dark Knight" did for comics' movies. Half the world is in ruins and a special force stands guard for when the return of machines named "Angels". The weapon against them is the Evangelions – child operated giant machines.
Time of Eve (Eve no Jikan), in a future in which robots are used daily, high school students Rikou and Masaki discover the "Time of Eve", a mysterious coffee shop where humans and robots are treated equally – in absolute contrast to social conventions, as well as the dictates of the powerful Robotics Ethics Council…

Twentieth Century Boys (Niju-Seiki Shonen), "20th century boys" is a national Japanese phenomenon, which started as an enormously successful manga series, turned Japanese blockbuster films. Toward the closing of the 20th century, childhood friends meet again, as a string of terrible disasters they had imagined in the early 70s turn into reality.

Japanese songs Karaoke event, a traditional karaoke event – a stage for lovers of Japan and Japanese music, hoping for the better singers of the lot… come and sing your favorites and listen to other fans perform.
Of Israeli Cosplay – a debate about the continuing development of cosplay in Israel – hoe the work and art of cosplay is appraised and how important are criteria such as character resemblance, originality, the handwork that goes into the cosplay performance and others.
Experiencing role-playing games for cosplayers – cosplay and role-playing games are based more or less on the same skills, and the pleasure derived from them as a hobby is also similar. This event will guide long-time cosplayers through their first steps in role-playing.
J-Rock Party – the convention will close with and all-night J-Rock party.
The Cosplay Competition
The main event of every anime convention, its costume competition, presenting the very best costumes of the competition finalists; in between there will be an interactive audience-participation trivia contest.
