Gamed and Politics – computer games as an ideology platform

General
Type:
Panel discussion
Language:
Hebrew
Synopsis
Up until a few years ago computer games where under no ideological critique, as they were thought to be a shallow, simplistic content platform. Several developments occurring this last decade, brought explorers and inventors to the realization that computer games can be recruited in the conveying of ideologies. In fact, every game carries with its maker's ideology. The panel will deal with questions of identity and representation in mainstream computer games, as well as in political games by independent creators who undermine the existing order and conventions of the medium itself.
