Icon festival is looking for knowledgeable volunteers in many diverse fields. If you would like to contribute in any of the following areas, please contact our volunteer administrator, Liat Shahar, at this address: personnel@icon.org.il.
Graphic-artists and graphic-designers
The festival is producing a great deal of graphic materials – everything from business cards, flayers, posters, invitations and up to program and bill boards. The festival is looking for designers and go-getters with some knowledge and experience in graphics for working in print, doing some intensive team-work and learning much.
Please send at least a basic portfolio or some work examples.
Scene designers
The special look of the Cinemateque square, the Eshqol Complex lobby and the areas in between, is many ways what gives the first impression to festival visitors. For that we need people with innovative ideas and the ability to implement them on a huge scale… The physical design of the festival scenes requires drawing skills, sculpting skills, working with a variety of materials and improvisation.
Video editors
The preparations for the festival require editing and handling various video materials for diverse objectives. In the field of publication and public-relations the duty will include editing discs, containing information about the festival and its contents, for the press and promoting the festival in the media. In the field of materials displayed at the festival, the team will handle clips intended for lectures, short film collections and editing clips for the various events. Volunteers for this team will function during the festival as part of the screening team.
Translators
The festival is looking for Hebrew-English and English-Hebrew translators, for several purposes:
Translating the web-page of the festival.
Translating the catalogue of the festival, intended to appear both in Hebrew and in English.
Translating movies to be presented at the festival.
Russian and Arabic translators will be most welcome.
Documentation - filming and photography
There is so much happening at Icon at every moment, it is a shame you can't be everywhere all the time. More than that, it is a shame you can't preserve the experience of Icon. To help everyone document Icon for generations to come, we are looking for people to capture on stills or on film all that is happening throughout the scenes of the festival and in the halls. Main events, ceremonies, the spirit of the festival, and all that is captivating and remarkable – if you would like to help us to pass the experience of this Icon to the comers of future festivals, and you have a talent using a video-camera or capturing with stills, join the documentation team!
