Louis Savy
The Icon Festival in conjunction with the British Council of Arts in Israel and as part of BI-ARTS – the British-Israeli Arts Training Scheme, is honoured to welcome and host Mr. Louis Savy, director of Sci-Fi-LONDON.
Creator and general director of the internationally recognized annual SCI-FI-LONDON Film Festival (now in it's 8th year), www.sci-fi-london.com. The Festival has also now gone ‘online’ with a Broadband TV station and will run an online version of the festival in 2008 – www.sci-fi-london.tv
Created and organizes 'SCREENING THE CITY', a London-wide series of film events as part of the London Festival of Architecturewww.ifa2008.org ">www.ifa2008.org - events included the London-on-Film Pub quiz in conjunction with Film London.
Creating and managing the 'Make Your Mark in Film' project for Enterprise Insight www.makeyourmarkinfilm.org - a 10 part series made over 10 weekends, in 10 cities, by 10 different production teams. Soon to be exclusively on www.Lovefilm.com
Other clients and projects include: Film London, The National 48Hour Film Challenge, RIBA, the LGA and the BBC.
Recently Louis organized the SCI-FI-LONDON 48 Film challenge which had 70 short films completed in one weekend, 5 of the winning films have since appeared at several festivals and been broadcast on the satellite channel SciFi in the UK, USA and Netherlands.
Louis has lectured on film festival best practice, runs regular surgeries at Film London and gives talks on no-budget genre film making.
Louis lives in London with his partner and two daughters. In his spare time he sings with the London Symphony Orchestra Community Choir.
