Role-playing Programming
Role playing is an exceptional experience, a combination between a social game, shared story-telling and improvisional theatre. What would you do if you were the heroes in the "Matrix"? What has happened to the characters of your favorite novel just past its ending? How does it feel to save the kingdom from the dragon's menace, being at the battle of Trafalgar or the decleration of Independence, experience adventures just like Indiana Jones, Batman or Buffy the vampire slayer?
You, the participants, tell the story together, and decide what the heroes do. Similarly to the theatrical world, you can choose the character that you'd like to play. You can imagine what it thinks and feels. Unlike theatre, nobody is telling you what to do – you decide how your characters will act. Unlike books or movies, the imaginative experience is all-encompassing and offers dialogue and interaction.
The Icon festival offers you a large variety of games: for beginners and experienced players, kids and adults alike. The themes are wide and varied, moving between sophisticated tactical games featuring robots and computers, epic voyages in the lands of dragons, stories taking place in the far future, others where you rewrite history itself.
These games are assembled into programs according to the games' atmosphere and content…
Being someone else has never been that easy.
