Writer / director Frank Darabont ("The Green mile", "The Shawshank Redemption") has adapted a Stephen King novella into this fantastic SF Horror film. Thomas Jane ("The Punisher") is David Drayton, the resident of a small American countryside town, placed in a beautiful valley, next to a hidden secret military base. The Morning after a lightning storm, a mysterious mist creeps slowly into town. While visiting the town's supermarket, David, his son and his neighbor (played by Andre Braugher, "Homicide, Life on the Street") witness police and military vehicles rushing frantically towards the mist, and then… the mist covers the entire town, and with it, a dark and deadly presence. Darabont created an SF horror / thriller that stands up to its promise, and during the a two-hour suspense-filled ride the audience start questioning who are more intimidating: the creatures in the mist, or the people holding out inside the supermarket.
