The international Film Festival
Science fiction and fantasy cross geographical and political borders and are not limited to Hollywood, as one may think.
In spite of what many people think, no special effects are necessary (yet we do like them a lot!) in order to make a beautiful fantasy or science fiction movie with an exciting plot, great acting and innovative directing methods.
Icon’s International Film Festival is a rare opportunity to get acquainted with unfamiliar film industries and with their unique points of view on sci-fi and fantasy. Most of the festival movies have never been shown in Israel (commercially or otherwise), so this will be your only chance to see them here on the big screen.
Guests
Since 2005 Icon hosts film-makers - directors, writers, producers - that visit the Israeli festival to show their movies to eager audiences. The festival hosts interviews, lectures, workshops, mastercasses and other events intended for die-hard fans, professionals and the general audience. This year ICon is glad and proud to host French director and production designer Marc Caro and Director of the SCI-FI-LONDON film festival, Louis Savy. Recently added to the guest list is American director Eric Courntey, featuring his short film "Forecast".

Don't miss "Youth Without Youth", the new philosophical SF film by Francis Ford Copolla, "The Orphanage" (a Multi-Goya-Winner produced by Guillermo Del-Toro) and "[REC]" - two fantastic examples of new Spanish supernatural horror, the vusially hypnotising "The Fall" by director Tarsem, the new world generated in Richard Kelley's "Southland Tales" and don't forget Jenna Jameson in her first movie apperance outside of porn in "Zombie Strippers!"... and of course many new and exciting science fiction, fantasy and supernatural horror films..
