Icon Award

One of the goals of the Icon Festival is to encourage and cultivate the creation of fantasy films, and for that purpose, Icon is proud to present this year, again, the Icon Award. The award will be granted in three categories:

• Feature-length film (for films not distributed commercially in Israel)
• Short film
• Israeli short film

The list of contenders for the award will appear shortly before the festival opens. Voting in each category will be open both to festival visitors and to a special panel of judges. 
Details for each category, manner of voting, and adjudication panel will be posted on the festival site at a later date.

Geffen Award

The Israeli Society for Science Fiction and Fantasy annually awards chosen publications in the field of science fiction and fantasy according to the votes of Icon participants. Awards are granted to the chosen science fiction novel, fantasy novel, and best original (Hebrew) story that appeared in the past year.
During the festival, visitors can vote for their preferred contender in special ballot boxes stationed at the Cinematheque and at the Eshkol Payis compound. The books and stories will be listed on the ballot slip, to be found at the festival stand. These contenders for the award are chosen by members of the Society alone, and are announced about one month before the festival. The vote during the festival is open to all visitors.
